1. How Cursed Seal Trials Work
Cursed Seal trials are Divinum's challenge mode, accessed via Cursed Seal pedestals found throughout the world. Each trial consists of waves of enemies in a locked arena. There are three tiers of increasing difficulty: Awakening, Perseverance, and Overcoming.
Trials are entirely optional but highly rewarding. They're also the best place to practice combat mechanics — the controlled environment lets you focus on learning combos, parries, and enemy patterns without exploration distractions.
Key Tip: You can retry trials as many times as you want. Dying in a trial returns you to the pedestal with no penalty. Use trials as a free combat practice arena — experiment with builds and combos without risk.
2. Tier 1: Awakening
Difficulty: Easy · Waves: 3 · Enemies: Basic grunts and weak ranged enemies · Reward: Sanctite x125
Awakening is the entry-level trial, designed to introduce the challenge mode. The enemies are the same basic types you've been fighting in the early regions, and the waves are small.
Strategy
- Wave 1: 4 basic melee grunts. Use aerial juggles to isolate and eliminate them one by one.
- Wave 2: 2 melee + 2 ranged. Prioritize the ranged enemies first — teleport behind them with Blink and eliminate quickly, then handle the melee.
- Wave 3: 1 elite grunt + 3 basic. The elite has more health and a shield. Parry its attacks to break the shield, then punish.
This tier is beatable with any build. Focus on learning parry timing and combo execution rather than rushing.
3. Tier 2: Perseverance
Difficulty: Medium · Waves: 5 · Enemies: Mixed types including armored enemies and fast strikers · Reward: Sanctite x250 + Rare Rune (random)
Perseverance introduces more dangerous enemy types and larger waves. You'll encounter armored enemies that require parries to break, fast strikers that attack in combos, and enemy combinations that force you to manage multiple threats.
Strategy
- Always kill the most dangerous enemy type first. Priority order: fast strikers → ranged → armored → basic melee.
- Use the arena pillars for line-of-sight breaks against ranged enemies.
- Don't get cornered. Keep moving and use Blink to reposition when surrounded.
- Save your special skill resource for wave 5 (the elite wave). Use it to burst down the elite quickly.
Danger: Wave 4 features 2 armored enemies simultaneously. Do not try to fight both at once. Use Blink to separate them, focus one down, then handle the other. Fighting two armored enemies together is the most common cause of death in this tier.
4. Tier 3: Overcoming
Difficulty: Hard · Waves: 7 · Enemies: All types including mini-boss level enemies · Reward: Sanctite x500 + Legendary Rune (trial-specific) + Achievement
Overcoming is the ultimate combat challenge in Divinum. It features the largest waves, the most dangerous enemy combinations, and a final wave that pits you against a mini-boss level enemy with adds. This tier requires a well-optimized build and solid mechanical execution.
Strategy
- Waves 1-3: Standard enemy waves but larger. Clear them efficiently while preserving health and resource. Don't take unnecessary damage.
- Wave 4: 3 fast strikers + 2 ranged. This is the first real difficulty spike. Use area skills and critical hits to clear the ranged, then focus the strikers one at a time.
- Wave 5: 2 armored + 2 fast strikers. The hardest non-boss wave. Separate the armored enemies, use parries to break their shields, and eliminate strikers when they overcommit.
- Wave 6: Mini-boss (Corrupted Guardian) alone. This enemy has a large health pool and multiple attack patterns. Treat it like a boss fight — learn its tells, parry when possible, and punish during recovery.
- Wave 7 (Final): Mini-boss + 4 adds. Kill the adds first (they're basic grunts and die quickly), then focus the mini-boss. Use all remaining resources and consumables here — there's no wave 8.
5. Best Builds for Trials
- For Awakening: Any build works. Use this tier to experiment.
- For Perseverance: A balanced build with Iron Will (parry window) and Vampiric Riposte (healing on parry counter) provides survivability and consistent damage.
- For Overcoming: The Storm Caller crowd-control build (Chain Lightning Core + Shockwave Stomp + Overcharge) excels in trials because of the large enemy waves. The area damage clears groups fast, and the reduced skill cost lets you spam abilities constantly.
- Alternative for Overcoming: The Unbreakable parry tank build (Mirror Shell + Vampiric Riposte + Iron Will) is nearly unkillable in sustained trial combat. Reflected damage from Mirror Shell handles groups, and healing from Vampiric Riposte keeps you alive.
6. Reward Breakdown
| Tier | Sanctite | Rune | Other |
|---|---|---|---|
| Awakening | 125 | None | — |
| Perseverance | 250 | Rare (random) | — |
| Overcoming | 500 | Legendary (unique) | Achievement |
Each Cursed Seal pedestal location has its own unique Overcoming-tier Rune reward. There are multiple pedestals across the 7 regions, so completing all Overcoming trials is the only way to collect every Legendary Rune.
